Company Overview

In 2004, Mike Lannon and Mary Obana, a husband-and-wife team, founded Koko FitClub, a franchise organization dedicated to spreading their patented Koko Smartrainer. Before distribution, the couple spent five years in the research and development of the Koko Smartrainer, touted as the world’s first strength machine equipped with digital technology for customized training.  The chain of dedicated gyms has grown rapidly with tens of thousands of members in dozens of gyms across 30 states in the United States – truly, it is living up to its growing reputation as the future of fitness.

Equipment and Facilities Available

Keep in mind that a Koko FitClub is nothing like your commercial gyms because you will not find an array of cardio and strength training equipment with dozens of gym-goers and personal trainers doing their own thing.  Instead, you will appreciate the quiet atmosphere of a light-filled studio with a spa-like ambiance where you can perform short 45-minute efficient workouts tailored to your physical fitness goals.  Your every movement will be tracked, analyzed and stored digitally (i.e., in cloud) while your results can be accessed on all of your devices (i.e., laptop and smartphone). You will have access to automated personal training, which provides touchscreen video guides for personalized training program according to your height, weight, age, gender, and fitness level.  You can choose from several tracks, too, including Diet Booster, Sports Performance, and Total Body Definition as well as Health Tracks for people with underlying medical conditions.

Membership Benefits and Privileges

When you become a member, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Access to the abovementioned programs
  • Use of the Koko Smartrainer, a computer program that acts as your personal trainer as well as a proprietary cardio and strength training device that packs in just 30 minutes the benefits of a 60-90 minutes of workout
  • Use of a Koko key, a thumdrive that can be plugged into the equipment, provides updated workouts and feedback, and even serves as the key to the studio (i.e., it can also be used in other Koko locations aside from the one where you are enrolled in)

Should You Become a Member?

If you want to enjoy the benefits of a truly customized fitness program without the hassles of a personal trainer looking over your shoulder, then paying for one of the Koko Fit Club prices of membership is a great idea.
