History of Lifetime Fitness
Lifetime Fitness began in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota as far back as 1992, and was founded by Bahram Akradi who is still serving as a director to this day. Although its origins root back to Brooklyn Park, the oldest standing facility is the one in Eagan, Minnesota. By 2014 the company was looking to enter a Real Estate Investment Trust and by 2015 the company had been acquired by private equity firms Leonard Greens and Partners and TPG Capital.
Equipment and Facilities Available
One of the reasons why Lifetime Fitness is one of the most popular centers is because of the quality of its facilities. Every Lifetime Fitness center has a multi-level training facility and high-end lock rooms. The training facilities have dozens if not hundreds of multiple gym equipment to accommodate the thousands of members coming in and out as the facilities are kept open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Membership Benefits and Privileges
Other than the training facilities there are also indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and basketball courts, a spa, café and a special daycare center for children. Many of the extra facilities are designed for optimal comfort. The daycare center is staffed to watch over kids 1 year-old and younger, as well as older kids, giving toys that have been assorted according to their age.
Members can also acquire special rewards points called LT Bucks by recommending friends to the gym, for availing of certain services and products or by purchasing gift cards. These LT Bucks can later be used to purchase other services in the gym, allowing members to get training without having to spend cash.
Should You Become a Member of Lifetime Fitness Gym?
Although a little more expensive than your typical gym, Lifetime Fitness prices are still within reasonable range given that you are given all of the amenities and high-end equipment you could ask for, all in a single facility. Add in the rewards points for loyal customers and a daycare center for busy parents and it becomes the go-to choice for exercising, building up and simply staying fit.
